Auditions

Please review the following information carefully:

The New Orleans Shakespeare Festival at Tulane will hold auditions for its 25th season.

Seeking:
Union and non-union actors, of all types, with a strong command of classical text for:

  1. All’s Well That Ends Well directed by Amy Holtcamp
  2. Macbeth directed by Jessica Podewell

Breakdown:
All roles are open.

Audition Dates and Times:
Auditions will be held in 15-minute blocks on:

  • Friday February 16 from 5:00p-9:00p
  • Saturday February 17 from 11:00a-4:00p

Callbacks:

  • Sunday February 18 11:00a-4:00p

Location:
Tulane University
McWilliams Hall, Room 200 (2nd floor)
Street parking is usually ample around campus and on Broadway Street. You may park on campus M-F after 5:30p and anytime of weekends.

Appointments:
Actors interested in auditioning should email Chaney Tullos at ctullos@tulane.edu. Please provide your preferred date (Friday or Saturday) window of time.

Preparation:
Actors should prepare a monologue of Shakespeare, one minute in length.
Please bring a headshot and resume with you.

 Contract Dates:
All’s Well That Ends Well
First rehearsal: May 1, 2018
Show opens: June 1, 2018
Performance dates: June 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 10, 15, 16, & 17. Curtain is 7:30p except for 1:30p Sunday matinees.

Macbeth
First rehearsal: June 5, 2018
Show opens: July 6, 2018
Performance dates: July 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22. Curtain is 7:30p except for 1:30p Sunday matinees.
Please note that Macbeth will be remounted in January 2019 for the annual Performance for the Schools.

Rehearsals are held from 6:00p-11:00p Tuesday-Friday, and 12:00p-8:30p Saturday and Sunday. We ask that actors only audition if they are able to commit to all rehearsals and shows and will not accept conflicting work during that time.

Compensation:
All roles are paid.

AEA Contract:
NOLA Tier B

Housing:
We are unable to offer housing this season.

Taped submissions:
Taped submissions will not be accepted. Auditions must be live.
